🏷️ Documentary, Found Footage, Private & University Project
A found footage documentary I made in 2021 using some footage I shot a couple of years earlier on a 2-day-visit to Scampia, an infamous suburb of Naples known from the novel, film and tv series "Gomorra". My brother and I armed ourselves with our cell phones and cheap digital point-and-shoot-cameras and went there to meet some locals who try to offer the local youth a perspective. While talking, we just let the cameras roll, sometimes just holding them in our laps pointing at the ceiling. The footage never made for a real film, but I did not want the stories to end up in a digital drawer. In a documentary film class at university, I asked the professor Yahya Alabdallah if I could make a try at cutting it into a found footage film, using footage from other sources to contextualize the stories, which he agreed on.
Due to the use of copyrighted material, I am unable to publish the film.
